MEET THE CREATOR

Kat has had a creative mind since she was a child. She enjoyed collecting rocks, crystals, and sea glass to seek inspiration from the earth. As an adult, she reflects on the mind of her younger-self and feels inspired from the earth around her. She finds immense happiness and fulfillment through using metals from this earth to create jewelry that is not only a form of self-expression, but also lets us feel connected to the earth we live on.

Deep in the heart of Washington Heights, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of lower Manhattan, exists a family home lived in for over 50 years and an artist hard at work. The aged walls emit faint echoes of laughter and memories from 3 generations who have called this place home. Upon entering the home, a glance around reveals paintings on every wall, family heirlooms and furniture decorating the space, and a quaint studio holding various metalsmithing tools. The environment is a creative laboratory for artistic expression.

It is within this space that Balentria was born and will continue to grow.
